Our History
Hi, I’m Aaron Pugh Jr., the owner of Mr. Mitten Handyman. My journey in home improvement started back in 2005, when I was just a teenager lending a hand to my father as we rehabbed homes together. Over the years, we didn’t just fix houses—we transformed them into homes, including three that we lived in as a family. Those experiences taught me the value of hard work, patience, and the pride that comes with seeing a project through from start to finish.
In 2016, I took on my first solo challenge: buying a distressed two-family rental property. Instead of hiring out the work, I rolled up my sleeves and handled the repairs myself—everything from patching drywall and fixing plumbing to updating finishes and making it livable again. That property wasn’t just an investment; it was proof that I had the skills, drive, and passion to bring homes back to life.
Before becoming a full-time handyman, I spent a decade working as a mortgage underwriter in corporate America. That experience gave me an inside look at how much homes truly mean to people—not just as investments, but as the spaces where life’s most important moments happen. While I valued the work, I knew my heart belonged on the hands-on side of things: building, repairing, and helping families enjoy their homes.
Today, through Mr. Mitten Handyman, I get to combine all those years of experience with my lifelong passion for fixing and improving homes. Whether it’s small repairs, larger renovations, or just helping you check off that growing to-do list, my goal is always the same: to provide honest, reliable, and quality workmanship that makes your home feel its best.
